It’s the Season of the Slasher, horror fans! This week it’s time to return to that dangerous old summer camp you can’t believe you survived with Friday the 13th, aka Camp Crystal Lake! It’s the movie that taught us to beware helpful old ladies.
This week, Chaos and Carnage put the strange in The Strangers! Two boring people have a really contrived, dare we say strange, kind-of breakup after a wedding, go to a cabin in the woods, and then continue kind-of breaking up until a blonde girl comes to the door looking for Tamara. The couple politely tell her to get lost and then get stalked and tormented by three masked… well, strangers.
Come podcast with us, friend. For-ever and ever, and ever. This week, Chaos and Carnage explore the Stanley Kubrick horror classic, The Shining, based of course on Stephen King’s novel, and once again we have guests! Catastrophe, Morpheus, Maverick and Gator are back and everyone has a different opinion about this movie! Plus more trivia than you can shake a Jack Nicholson at, including cast, the hotel itself, filming problems (and records), symbology in the movie, and Chaos’ special segment, Why Shelly Duvall as Wendy Torrence is Actually Awesome.
Chaos and Carnage lead an expedition into the horrifyingly mundane, aka suburbia, where the white upper middle class we’re all supposed to aspire to be has its seemingly serene surface pierced by the spirit world, who like to f**k s**t up! Richard Bates Jr. has fun poking at the hypocrisy of these communities and gives us a pair of unconventional heroes to unravel the mystery of exactly what was buried in Raymond’s parents’ back yard… and what it wants.
Chaos and Carnage are fully on the side of youth and anarchy in this week’s review of The Cabin in the Woods! Marty was a plant! Topics this week include the price of custom-built bongs and who probably ended up with it, all the amazing fandom crossovers you never knew were essential to your fanfic well being, which hosts and guests best fit the sacrificial archetypes, and of course, monsters. Lots. And lots. Of monsters. A glorious cavalcade of mayhem awaits!
